Community Engagement and Knowledge Translation
Services

Amplify the voices of your community

Amplify Engagement operates on Turtle Island and our head office is in Tkaronto, the traditional territory of many Indigenous communities including the Mississauga's of the New Credit, the Anishinabek, the Haudenosaunee, the Chippewa, and the Huron-Wendat peoples. This territory is governed by the Dish with One Spoon treaty, a treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee that bound them to share the territory and protect the land.

We respect the rights and sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples. We commit to engaging them in meaningful and culturally respectful ways and working at their direction to best represent their voices.

Workshop Facilitation

We harness the power of people

We help you collaborate effectively with communities around issues that impact them to drive change and design a better future. Our approach to engagement is decision-oriented, equity-focused, and reciprocal.

  • "Working with Amplify Engagement was a dream! Their combination of values (decision-oriented, equity-focused, and reciprocal), experience, and skills in engagement and facilitation made it a joy to work together. More importantly, the process they facilitated strengthened our understanding of the research results of our current project AND helped us lay the groundwork to expand our patient engagement work. Highly recommend!"

Claire Bodkin, Assistant Clinical Professor, McMaster University

  • “Amplify was a joy to work with. They are collaborative, fun, engaging, inclusive and deliver a great engagement experience that clearly comes from their depth of expertise.”

Stephen Canning, Director Planning & Strategy, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health

  • "Jenine and Saskia were an absolute pleasure to work with and exceeded my expectations. They were extremely organized, personable, and responsive. Their knowledge and experience in equity work, as well as facilitating community engagement on sensitive topics, were extremely valuable assets they brought to our project. Jenine and Saskia created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our community engagement participants. Participants provided very positive feedback about the flow of the agenda, the creative and collaborative activities, and their outstanding facilitation. I would love the opportunity to work with Amplify Engagement again and would recommend Jenine and Saskia for future community engagement projects."

Jennifer Lloyd, Health & Wellness Project Coordinator, Town of Innisfil

  • "Jenine and Saskia at Amplify Engagement are knowledgeable, organized and efficient when it comes to conducting engagement projects. They work with you to ensure your project needs are met, equity considerations are at the forefront, and tasks are completed within time and budget. Highly recommend them to other groups looking to engage individuals and communities."

Laura Ferreira-Legere, Senior Manager, Public Engagement & Knowledge Translation, ICES

  • "Jenine and Saskia helped us conceptualize and plan the community engagement, supported participant recruitment, expertly facilitated the sessions, and developed excellent materials summarizing the engagement process and content. From our initial contact to the completion of the work, I was extremely impressed by Jenine and Saskia’s expertise and professionalism. Their work is outstanding, and I have no doubt that working with Amplify Engagement made our project better. I hope to have the chance to work with Amplify Engagement again, and I strongly recommend them."

Fiona Kouyoumdjian, Assistant Professor,  McMaster University

  • "Jenine and Saskia have extensive experience in engaging with community members from diverse backgrounds. They are also both just really good people.  I appreciated their thoughtful approach to the entire project and the process of designing the engagement was fantastic (and I learned a lot!). It was a great partnership and balance of our respective perspectives - a key element of our success, I believe, is that they are sincerely interested in understanding our underlying motivation and goals, which allowed us to plan a truly successful project."

Jennie Young, Executive Director, Canadian Brain Research Strategy

  • "Their recruitment and facilitation strategies were a huge success. They were organized, responsive and so open to feedback and collaboration at every stage of our project. Their recruitment materials were *beautiful*. Their approach to facilitation was kind and inclusive, they smoothly navigated the challenges of using an online forum with a large group of participants and focused on the safety and wellbeing of everyone. We received several emails from the community participants expressing their gratitude for such a positive experience. Through this process, we were able to generate meaningful discussion and hear the thoughts and perspectives of a community that is highly marginalized.

Amanda Butler, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, McMaster University

  • "It was an absolute pleasure to work with Saskia and Jenine of Amplify Engagement throughout the project.  They immediately understood what was needed to engage people with lived experience in meaningful ways and used that understanding to improve the documentation, the outreach process and the webinars and focus groups themselves. They set an open, positive tone that put all participants at ease.  They also delivered on time, all the time."

Deanna Groetzinger, Manager, Neurological Health Charities Canada
